Willow

She was considered a tree that could give man the art of speech and poetic inspiration. According to legend, Rokita devil lived in solitary willows.

In Poznan it was believed that under the willow rested the body of a suicide, and instead of the juices of the tree, his blood was circulated there.

It symbolized caring, femininity, vitality, but also sadness and longing. Flexible, hanging branches of willows resemble hair, which was a sign of mourning.

In the Catholic Church Palm Sunday is also called Willow Sunday. From the branches of willow, in the Catholic church symbolizing the resurrection and immortality of the soul prepare Easter palms. The willow was called the "love life" plant, the Easter palm was meant to protect from devils, fire, charms and spells.
